TeachingKatie currently serves as the Choir Director at North Middlesex Regional High School where she directs three vocal ensembles as well as teaches general music classes including piano, guitar and songwriting.
Before her current role, Katie served as Choir Director for the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District from 2016-2024, and served as the Middle School Choir Director for the Andover Public Schools from 2013-2016. It was while studying at Wheaton College that Katie realized she wanted to become a music teacher. As the director of her A Cappella group, the Wheaton Whims, Katie experienced the joy of teaching, arranging songs, performing, bonding and most importantly giving the gift of music. This experience, coupled with her incredible experience in the Germantown Friends School Choir under beloved director Larry Hoenig, gave her the inspiration to follow her dream of teaching choir at the secondary level. |

Recordings
During the COVID pandemic, Katie created several recordings of her students who were not allowed to sing together in person. These students recorded their parts at home as well as in the classroom. While this was one of the most difficult times for her students to get through, these recordings are a small bit of light in the darkness.
